The Prince of Saint Paul
A BLOG ABOUT NOTHING, FULL OF NON-SEQUITURS, THROUGH THE LENS OF MY ROYAL LIFE AS THE PRINCE OF SAINT PAUL.
This is not my first blog. Even the word blog is awkward if one thinks about it. BLOG. Actually an abbreviation, it’s like most things these days, made up and shortened from another made up word like ‘weblog.’ The ‘we’ was just too much for the late 1990’s, when blog first came on the scene.
My first blog was on blogspot.com - a website that is now also part of internet history. I was studying in India and auto-save was a really new and useful feature. Inevitably, myself or a classmate would be writing an update to our blog and the power would go out, only to be resurrected by auto-save. Internet coding geniuses.
Seven years would go by until I started my next blog about my neighborhood in Saint Paul, MN. This one lasted a whopping 17 months, dropping off around the time I regained FTE status. Posts were of original content, and it was even paired with its own Twitter account. I had been inspired by a blog in the DC area called Popville.
Why start a new blog? Are Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter not enough? This blog will hopefully be the Seinfeld of blogs. A blog about nothing, full of non-sequiturs, through the lens of my royal life as the Prince of Saint Paul.
Ta-da. I have written another first post to kickoff a new blog. Maybe people will read this, maybe they won’t. I'm just a millennial and I have have something to say. Cheers.
